Moths sprang round at Linwood Cemetery
A coil of tussock grassland moths sprang round
Linwood Cemetery. Although sharp wind
sliced through their ranks, 8? straightaway snapped back,
a hornet’s nest of angry rubber bands.
The meander of a single moth or pair
go by ago as two months coil up
two moths amid that marbled blue we breathe
in, then one saw that entire squadron sproing
past crosses toppled & upright then boing
off hills off stage.
